Megan McConnell Named Young Underwriter of the Year
Reactions Honors ICAT Syndicates 4242, 6123 Active Underwriter Megan McConnell
Broomfield, CO: Reactions Magazine announced yesterday its winners for the London Market Awards; honoring Megan McConnell, Active Underwriter for ICAT Syndicates 4242 and 6123, as the recipient of the Young Underwriter of the Year award. The accolade is in recognition of McConnell’s performance in delivering Syndicate results, highlighted by 25% year-over-year premium growth and a combined ratio of 71% in 2015, among the best in the Lloyd’s market.
“We are very proud of Megan. She has been instrumental in driving our London business and fostering strong relationships for the Syndicates and ICAT,” said ICAT President Gregory Butler, “This is a very big and well-deserved honor.”
Megan began her insurance career with ICAT in 2005, and was appointed Active Underwriter for ICAT Syndicate 4242 in 2013, making her the youngest Active Underwriter in Lloyd’s and the youngest female Active Underwriter in the market’s history.
In 2015 under McConnell’s leadership ICAT Special Purpose Syndicate (SPS) 6123 was launched, facilitating ICAT’s ability to provide per-risk capacity up to $100M to wholesale partners.
