Kevin Sharp
Chief Risk Officer
Kevin leads ICAT’s enterprise risk management strategy, overseeing capital protection, companywide risk practices, and reinsurance. He advises the executive team on strategic, financial, insurance-related, and regulatory risks, while also engaging with carriers and supporting business development.
Kevin returned to ICAT in 2025 after three years as a reinsurance broker with Gallagher Re. He previously spent 12 years at ICAT specializing in catastrophe risk analytics and response.
He holds a master’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, with academic research focused on tropical meteorology and natural hazards. His master’s thesis examined how landfall variation influences tropical cyclone losses. Kevin has presented at the World Meteorological Organization, the American Meteorological Society, and major insurance industry events. In 2019, he was honored with the Marsh CEO Award.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys skiing, rafting, mountain biking, running, playing music, and traveling. He lives in the Colorado mountains with his wife, Jenny, their daughter, Lyra, and dog, Della Mae.
